Patna: BJP leaders in Bihar have been provided Y category security. Following the order, the CRPF took over the security of the leaders. The houses of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and MLAs were attacked during the Agneepath protest. In this situation, the Union Home Ministry provided CRPF security to them.

There are still nationwide protests against the Agneepath project. Protesters attack railway station in Ludhiana, Punjab. So far, 620 people have been arrested in Bihar in connection with the burning of a vehicle in Mahendergarh in Haryana. As many as 260 protesters have been arrested in Uttar Pradesh and 100 in Telangana.

The investigation is progressing focusing on the WhatsApp chats of those arrested. It is also examining whether military training centers in different states were involved in the agitation. As violence escalated, 369 trains were canceled across the country. Sixty of these are in Bihar.

Police in custody have arrested a suspected mastermind of the Secunderabad protests. According to the Railway Police, the protest was organized by WhatsApp groups. Railways suffered a loss of Rs 20 crore. An attempt was made to attack the BSNL office during the mourning procession of Rakesh, who died in a police firing. There were protests in Chennai and Dharwad in Karnataka.

The agitation against the Agneepath project is strong in northern India. This is where the widespread violence took place. In southern India, job seekers have staged protests in states including Kerala, but the protests have been peaceful. Police in riot gear stormed a rally in Secunderabad on Friday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck.

A passenger of a train set on fire by protesters in Lakhisara, Bihar, died today. Today there is an opposition bandh in Bihar. The Central Government has directed the Armed Forces to go ahead with the recruitment process even as the nationwide protests continue.
