RER, metro, bus… towards a renewable strike at the RATP from March 7

by time news

The inter-union at the RATP called on Saturday for a renewable strike of the movement against the pension reform, from March 7, to obtain the abandonment of the project. Until then, a next day of mobilization is scheduled for February 16, after the fourth which took place this Saturday and which, according to the CGT, brought together “more than 2.5 million” demonstrators all over France.

“If the government still does not hear the determination of the workers, the youth and all those who support this unitary movement to express their anger in the face of this new injustice, it will have to assume the blocking of the economy in our country”, warned the inter-union (CGT, FO, UNSA, CFE-CGC) of the Autonomous Paris Transport Authority in a press release.

The RATP inter-union said it remained “convinced of the harmfulness for workers of the current bill on the future of our pensions”. “Despite the rejection of a very large majority of the population, the government remains blocked on its brutal, unfair and unjustified reform,” she denounced.

“A renewable strike”

“In view of the contempt displayed by this government, the inter-union RATP takes its responsibilities”, calling to mobilize not only this Saturday, but also on Thursday February 16, the next deadline for the movement, according to the same source. And “on the other hand, it calls for a renewable strike from March 7, 2023 in order to weigh even stronger and win the withdrawal of this bill”.

At the national level, the CGT is in favor of renewable strikes but the proposal does not have consensus among the other unions.
