Green light from the Board of Directors of the Scientific and Technological Research Area of ​​Trieste – Area Science Park at today’s appointment of Anna Sirica as the new General Manager of the National Research Institute. “At the end of an accurate selection process which saw the evaluation of 75 candidates from all over Italy, the Board approved the appointment as general manager of Dottossa Sirica on the proposal of the Body’s President, Caterina Petrillo” announces the area research on the Trieste karst.

The Area Science Park General Manager is responsible for the structure and implementation of decisions and programs approved by the governing bodies of the institution and oversees the technical, administrative and financial management of the research institution. Anna Sirica, who succeeds Stefano Casaleggi, will take up the role on November 24 and will remain in office for 4 years.

Born in 1969, degree in Economics and Commerce, Anna Sirica has obtained a second level master’s degree in Management and Public Economics and a second level master’s degree in Communication, Relations and Human Resource Management. In his twenty-year career, he has held general management positions in important research and university institutions, including the Italian Space Agency, the Polytechnic of Bari and the Invalsi.

Sirica previously, he has held executive positions in complex structures, including the Institute of Nuclear Physics, the National Institute of Astrophysics, the National Council for Agriculture; she was Secretary General of the technical secretariat of the presidency at the National Institute of Astrophysics. He is President of the Independent Assessment Body of Ingv and a member of the same body in Crea.

Lecturer in Business Management and Automation of Management Processes in several university masters, during its career Sirica has focused a lot on innovation, automation and review of processes and has initiated and coordinated important projects focused on the dematerialisation and digitization of business processes.

Sirica has worked constantly to create a close and fruitful collaboration between the academic and industrial worlds, with the main objective of making technology accessible to people, promoting and supporting scientific research aimed at technology transfer as a fundamental tool for the country’s economic development and as a source of innovation for improving competitiveness, productivity and employment . One of the main achievements of Anna Sirica was the establishment of the Amaldi Foundation, whose model is the same as the German Fraunhofer.
