Alongside the BA-247, the border between Bahía and Tocantins is inexperienced and yellow: there are kilometers of soy, corn and cotton fields, which colour the sky for hours, in an irregular panorama. On occasion, the silence is interrupted by the engines of small planes that fly over the crops, spraying poison and spreading an acidic odor, just like chlorine.
