Residents of Popotlán, Apopa, get a renovated sports complex

San Salvador West. The Minister of Security, Gustavo Villatoro, handed over to the residents of the neighborhood of Popotlán 2, in the district of Apopa, the sports complex which is a community space in which more than $700,000 was invested.

The sports complex is self-sustainable and environmentally friendly, the energy used is obtained with solar panels, the water with atmospheric generators and is recycled and reused for the irrigation of the fields.

During the delivery, the Minister of Justice, Gustavo Villatoro, emphasized that “this work shows the rebirth of many communities in our country that lived at the mercy of terrorist groups.”

Residents will have access to two parks, an athletic track or pedestrian path, a relaxation area, children’s games and a multipurpose room, among other things.

“We put our hearts into this work because we know that you and the Salvadorans deserve the best from the institutions of the Central Government,” the official said.

Michelle Sol, the Minister of Housing, and the mayor of the municipality, José Urbina, attended the delivery event, thanking the latter for choosing the rehabilitation of this sports space that will benefit all the neighborhoods and educational centers in this area.
