Residents of the Ukrainian city of Volnovakha, liberated by the forces of the Donetsk People’s Republic with the support of the Russian army, told Izvestia correspondent Semyon Yeremin about the arsons of apartments by the Ukrainian military.

According to Alexander Samakish, this was done with the aim of provocation.

“The Ukrainian military drove everyone to the basement, and then poured a canister over the apartments and set them on fire. To later say that the Russians arrived, bombed and so on, ”he said.

According to local residents, they were forced to stay in basements for two weeks, while the Ukrainian authorities left them to their fate, not taking care of food and bomb shelters.

“The problem is that our government has abandoned us. Already on the 25th there was no power in the city, the police were evacuated. There was no order in the city. Shops have been robbed already on 26,” Yulia Melnichenko said.
