DIG/ Pressured by national opinion on the case of the sinking of Esther Miracle, the Gabonese Minister of Transport, Brice Constant Paillat, whose media outlets had become annoying for the parents of the victims, tendered his resignation, this Thursday, March 16, 2023, to President Ali Bongo who accepted it, indicates a press release from the Presidency of the Republic.
His interim will be assured by his delegate, Eric Joêl Békalé, until the appointment of a new minister, says the same press release.

The Esther Miracle is the name of the boat flying the Gabonese flag of the shipowner Royal Cost Marine which sank on March 9, 2023 around 4 a.m. in conditions that had been unclear until then.
21 people were killed in this shipwreck. 16 others are missing and some 124 have been rescued.
