Dhaka Wasa’s controversial Managing Director (MD) Taksim A Khan has resigned. An official of WASA said that he sent the resignation letter online on Wednesday (August 14).

He said that in his resignation letter, Taksim A Khan said that he was unable to perform the duties of managing director of WASA due to illness.

Rumors of his resignation were heard since last Tuesday. Dhaka WASA Managing Director (MD) Taksim A Khan was contacted to find out the truth of the matter but he was not available. His phone number is found to be switched off.

Meanwhile, WASA officials and employees have been protesting against corrupt officials including the MD in front of WASA building in Karwan Bazar since last Sunday. In view of these incidents, Dhaka WASA Managing Director (MD) Taksim A Khan has resigned – such rumors are heard.

Taksim A Khan did not have to leave the post after being appointed for the first time in 2009. He was very close to the Awami League government due to which he was appointed Managing Director (MD) of Dhaka Wasa for the seventh time.

After former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned on August 5 and left the country, there were calls for the resignation of high-level officials of the government.
