The Director General (DG) of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (MAUSI) Professor Nehal Ahmed has resigned. He was appointed on contractual basis.
On Wednesday (August 21), he submitted his resignation letter to the Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education.
Nehal Ahmed said, I submitted my resignation letter to the Ministry of Education a little while ago. I went to the ministry yesterday to resign. I have submitted the exemption form this morning as the HSC examinees have taken their positions in the Secretariat and the Ministry of Education that day.
Meanwhile, Nehal Ahmed was given an ultimatum to resign by the teacher-employee union president Md. Salim is fried.
Nehal Ahmed’s normal tenure of service ended on April 13 after being a regular DG for almost two years. Later, he was appointed on contractual basis for another year. This created widespread dissatisfaction in the education cadre. After the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government in a student coup, he no longer held office.
