Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President Mahbubul Alam has resigned. He cited health reasons in his resignation letter.
Wednesday (September 11) Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce (Director General, Trade Organization) Dr. This information was informed in an order signed by Nazneen Kausar Chowdhury.
It states that FBCCI is a registered trade organization licensed by the Ministry of Commerce. FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam resigned due to health reasons.
According to FBCCI sources, Mahbubul Alam is undergoing treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore. He has sent his resignation letter to the DTO of Trade Organizations of the Ministry of Commerce through e-mail.
Earlier, on August 2, 2023, Mahbubul Alam, representative of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries, was elected as the President of FBCCI Board of Directors for the term 2023-25.
Meanwhile, according to Section 17 of Trade Organizations Act 2022, Member of Bangladesh Competition Commission (Retired Additional Secretary). Hafizur Rahman has been appointed Administrator of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).

According to the order, the appointed administrator shall notify the ministry within 120 (one hundred and twenty) days of handing over responsibility to the selected committee through a fair and impartial election.
