• Djokovic equals the absolute record of titles, Gauff wins his first Grand Slam: Novak Djokovic made tennis history a little more on Sunday by beating Daniil Medvedev in the final of the US Open. There has never been a French world champion, but I hope to be the first in a long line,” he declared to the ‘arrival.
• The Mannschaft in crisis 9 months before Euro-2024 football: nothing is going well on the football side in Germany. Coach Hansi Flick was dismissed from his post on Sunday, the day after a humiliating defeat in a friendly match against Japan (1-4). The defeat too many in Wolfsburg – the fourth in the last five matches – to which is added the premature elimination of Germany in the group stage at the 2022 World Cup. Current sports director Rudi Völler, U-20 coach Hannes Wolf and Sandro Wagner will take over in the interim.
