New Delhi: The company has made a big disclosure on Dinesh Kumar Saraogi, the former officer of Jindal Steel, who was accused by a woman of sexual harassment in flight. Writing a letter to the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange, the company informed that Saraogi had resigned from the post of director of the company on 28 March 2023 itself. This incident happened on a flight from Kolkata to Abu Dhabi. The victim had shared her ordeal on the social media platform X. She had told that Saraogi was sitting on the seat next to her. They started talking. During the conversation, Saraogi asked her about her hobbies and then started showing pornographic videos on his phone. She panicked and immediately ran to the washroom. She complained to the flight attendant who took immediate action.

The victim had also tagged Naveen Jindal

In her post, the victim had also tagged Jindal Steel promoter and BJP MP Naveen Jindal. She had appealed to Jindal to take action in this matter. Jindal immediately responded saying that he will get this matter investigated and will take the strictest action. He had said that such behavior will not be tolerated at all in the company.

Naveen Jindal further wrote, ‘Thank you for reaching out and speaking up! It takes a lot of courage to do what you did and I want you to know that we have a zero tolerance policy for such cases. I have asked the team to investigate the matter immediately and then take strict and necessary action.’

Jindal Steel gave this information to the stock market

Jindal Steel has clarified in its letter sent to the stock market that ‘We wish to inform that Dinesh Kumar Saraogi had resigned from the post of director of the company on 28 March 2023.’ The company further said that Dinesh Kumar Saraogi is no longer associated with the company in any way.

Saraogi is currently the CEO of Oman-based Vulcan Green Steel, which is said to be a part of the Jindal Steel Group. According to media reports, Vulcan Green Steel has formed a committee to investigate the matter and has sent Saraogi on leave.
