AActor Vijay pays homage at the memorial of the late Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar. Vijay arrives at Puneet’s Samadhi at Kandirava Studio in Bengaluru. The video has been widely circulated on social media.

Puneet left Karnataka on October 29. He continued to work out in the gym, feeling unwell and dying of a heart attack. Many people visit Puneet’s Samadhi place daily. Allu Arjun had visited this place a few days back.

Meanwhile, Puneet’s last film ‘James’ is getting ready for release. Puneet’s arrival as a soldier is a mass entertainer with an emphasis on action. Puneet was voiced by actor and brother Shivraj Kumar. Directed by Chetan Kumar.

The movie will be released on March 17, Puneet’s birthday. Puneet said goodbye after filming all the important parts except one song and action sequence. Meanwhile, there have been reports that Kannada filmmakers have said that other films will not be screened for a week from the release date of the film. The film stars Priya Anand, Meka Srikanth and Anu Prabhakar Mukherjee in the lead roles.

The Karnataka government had decided to award the ‘Karnataka Ratna’ posthumously to Puneet Rajkumar. Both the eyes of the actor were donated after his death. Puneeth is the son of the legendary Kannada actor Rajkumar. He made his film debut as a child actor in some of the films starring Rajkumar. Puneet won the National Award for Best Child Actor for his role as Appu in ‘Bettada Hoo’. Puneet Rajkumar, who acted in another film ‘Appu’ as an adult, was known by the same nickname among the fans.

Apart from being an actor, the actor was also involved in charitable activities. During the first wave of Kovid, he donated Rs 50 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund in Karnataka. During the floods in North Karnataka, Rs 5 lakh was given to the same fund. Along with being an actor, he was also a blessed singer. Years ago, he decided that his salary as a singer would be set aside for charity. With this reward he had several Kannada medium schools which he regularly financed.
