jpnn.com – Prospective Jakarta Governor Candidate Rano Karno or Doel disagrees with the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) being made free for Persija as proposed by candidate Dharma Pongrekun.

“Is it possible to make it free? I said it’s impossible. That (in my opinion) doesn’t make sense,” said Rano answering media crew in Jakarta, Sunday (1/9).

The PDI Perjuangan politician said that there were operational costs for JIS that had to be borne and Persija could work around this by maximizing season tickets like in the English Premier League.

“If we look at the English Premier League, for example, there are season tickets, during one competition, the price is definitely different,” Rano continued.

However, Rano did not deny that JIS was an infrastructure that was built extraordinarily during Anies Baswedan’s era as Governor of Jakarta.

“The stadium is extraordinary, Mas Anies, Bang Anies built it extraordinarily,” he said.

However, Rano said, transportation to and from JIS does need to be improved. Including vehicle parking access to the stadium located in North Jakarta.

“It’s just that the main obstacle is transportation, there is no access to parking,” he said.
