jpnn.comJAKARTA – Member of Commission III DPR RI for Law, Human Rights and Security I Wayan Sudirta responded to the conflict that occurred between individual TNI and Polri personnel in Sorong, West Papua on Sunday (14/4/2024).

Wayan Sudirta regrets that this incident has occurred repeatedly.

“This is a test of harmony and collaboration between the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) again,” said Wayan Sudirta in a written statement, Monday (15/4).

For your information, on April 14 2024, the TNI-Polri conflict occurred again. This time the clash occurred between members of the Indonesian Navy and members of Brimob in Sorong, West Papua.

Through a press conference, West Papua Regional Police Chief Inspector General Johnny Eddison Izir and Commander of Fleet III Command Rear Admiral TNI Hersan apologized to the public.

Both explained that the conflict was triggered by a misunderstanding. Currently both parties are conducting investigations and have promised to the public that they will take firm action against the perpetrators and all parties involved in violating the law.

Wayan Sudirta noted that the TNI-Polri conflict was a recurring incident amidst the discourse on TNI-Polri Synergy.

According to Wayan Sudirta, the National Police Chief and the TNI Commander have always pledged a harmonious and collaborative TNI-Polri togetherness.

Wayan Sudirta DPR revealed the fundamental problem that is a big homework for our country regarding the conflict between the TNI and Polri which often recurs.
