Expatriate entrepreneur Dr. Shamsheer Vyal-based healthcare services company Response Plus Holding has acquired UK company Prometheus Medical. The acquisition is through subsidiary Response Plus Medical (RPM).
The acquisition is part of a major move to become one of the largest service providers in the global pre-hospital medical space. Prometheus is a company that provides training and consultancy services for emergency medical services, including in war zones. Prometheus was part of Safeguard Medical, which provides advanced emergency medical technologies and specialized training.
Listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, Response Plus Holding is the largest provider of pre-hospital medical services in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The acquisition, which brings together two leading healthcare providers, will pave the way for RPM to provide comprehensive medical coverage to major companies in the defense and oil and gas sectors.
Services will be extended
Prometheus provides services to a number of organizations in the defense sector, including the UK Military, Royal Flight of Oman, UK Security, Defense and NHS. With the new acquisition, RPM will be able to increase its capacity for emergency medical services and expand its services into areas such as remote health services for energy and defense companies and medical coverage for VIPs.
Running over 500 clinics for the oil and gas industry, RPM currently serves companies such as Adnoc, Oxy, Total and Halliburton.
Response Plus Medical CEO Dr. Rohil Raghavan said. The Group aims to become a leading healthcare and training provider for energy and defense organizations globally. This will also give RPM the distribution rights in the GCC and India for US-based Safeguard Medical’s advanced trauma care and simulation products.
