The Minister of Labor, Rolando Castro, said that the companies involved in the labor incident that occurred on June 22 in Ilobasco, refuse to pay compensation to those affected.

- We are going to appeal to the Attorney General’s Office for possible criminal offenses, including manslaughter, among others, given that we have reports that both companies violated previously mentioned occupational safety standards.
“We promise the Salvadoran people and especially their families that these cases will not go unpunished,” said the minister. “We will take the case to the very end, whatever the cost,” he said.
