Normally anyone would have given up there, but Sami gained strength from his weakness. It was sold as something very personal and mental and that claw was what allowed him to catch Gunther off guard and strike him down. The European was champion since June 2022.
Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair y Naomi ganaron a Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai, Asuka y Kairi Sane): This was a match made for a single purpose. Jade Cargill needed to shine and that’s what they dedicated themselves to. It was her debut in a big WWE event. There was a lot of desire to see it and to make matters worse they left it for last. That raised expectations, but once she entered the scene there was no color. She swept all three of her rivals practically alone. She barely suffered and she sent a message to the SmackDown champion to get out of here tomorrow. There is a challenger raising her hand.
Jey Uso defeated Jimmy Uso: Two brothers, face to face. The situation is different for either of the two. The personal level is very present and Jimmy tried to play that trick, but it backfired. The fight, as expected, due to what was coming from behind, was very hard. There were no frills, each blow attempted to harm the opponent. The night smiled on Jey, but they both had their moments and the feeling is that this will not stay like this.
LWO (Rey Mysterio and Andrade) defeated Santos Escobar and Dominik Mysterio: Surprise fight, as Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson appeared masked and helped Rey Mysterio and Andrade win. The fight took place on equal terms and was very even, which caused a great spectacle. They all had a colorful style, achieving a very attractive fight. The companions of both were participants, but when they canceled each other, it was the turn of the NFL players, who were key in preventing Dominik from using a chair to harm his father and Andrade. They entered at the right time for ‘the good guys’ to win.
Grayson Waller & Austin Theory won the SmackDown and Awesome Truth (R-Truth & The Miz) pairs titles, the RAW ones against Judgment Day (Damian Priest & Finn Balor), #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tomaso Ciampa), New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) and New Catch Republic (Tyler Bate & Pete Dunne): WWE’s tag team titles are vacant for the first time since May 2022. The trophies had changed owners, but there had been no opportunity to put them up separately. Tonight, in a ladder fight, they were separately. Waller and Theory were quick enough to take advantage when the ring was empty to take down the blue belts. The Awesome Truth had to work harder. At that point, JD McDonagh came to the aid of his Judgment Day teammates, but it was The Miz and R-Truth, especially the latter, who managed to take off the champions to start a reign that ignited the public.
Rhea Ripley defeated Becky Lynch to retain the WWE Women’s World Championship: Rhea Ripley has been champion for one year. She celebrated this milestone in a great match against Becky Lynch. The Irishwoman is one of the best fighters today, but the champion was superior. She dominated the fight, she made Lynch suffer and ended up winning her after being confirmed as number one. Becky gave a display of resistance, but it was not enough against an excellent Ripley.
