The period from 1 to 7 April 2024

The aim was to carry out checks to prevent and combat petty crime and to deal with problems related to local conditions

Checked (1165) people – (1008) vehicles – (9) shops-

(3) people were arrested and (329) violations were confirmed

In the context of the operational planning of the General Regional Police Directorate of the South Aegean, targeted actions were carried out on the islands of the South Aegean between 1 and 7 April 2024 with the aim of preventing and suppressing petty crime, focusing on localities:

· in dealing with delinquent behaviors related to local conditions,

· enhancing citizens’ sense of security,

· the operation of shops of health interest and

· road safety

These actions were organized by the Cyclades and Dodecanese Police Directorates and were implemented by inspection teams set up with

participation of police officers from the local Police Services, with the necessary means and equipment.

Specifically regarding the results:

· 1,165 people, 1,008 vehicles and 9 shops were checked.

· 3 people were arrested

· 329 violations of the Code of Criminal Procedure were confirmed.

Similar operational actions, which have as their main characteristics an increased police presence and the implementation of targeted controls, will continue with undiminished intensity.
