The Supreme Electoral Tribunal of El Salvador continues with the final scrutiny of the elections for deputies of the Legislative Assembly, in which 20 seats of the 60 deputies that will make up the legislative body for the period 2024-2027 have been defined.
In the preliminary results of the scrutiny, Nuevas Ideas has managed to secure 19 seats, consolidating its position as the dominant political force in this race. On the other hand, the PCN Party has only obtained one seat so far.
The departments of Cabañas, San Vicente, Morazán, La Unión, Cuscatlán and Chalatenango are the first to complete the scrutiny of the minutes, providing an initial overview of the distribution of seats in the next Legislative Assembly.
Ahuachapán and Sonsonate are the departments that add to the results of the final scrutiny.
