Resumption of Indian Embassy in Tripoli

The Director of the Department of Asian and Australian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Government of National Unity, Nouri Fadhel Al-Kaseh, received the Chargé d’Affaires of the Indian Embassy in Libya, Mohammed Aleem.

The meeting reviewed “the announcement of the resumption of the Indian Embassy’s work from its headquarters in the capital, Tripoli, including the consular section to grant visas to Libyan citizens, and to follow up on the conditions of Indian expatriate workers.”

During the meeting, the two sides expressed “the desire of the two countries to activate relations of friendship and cooperation in all fields, which is considered an important step for both friendly countries, within the framework of the efforts of the Government of National Unity and the endeavors made to strengthen bilateral relations by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by the Department of Asia and Australia, with the countries of the continent to return their embassies to work from Libya.”

The meeting concluded with a press conference, during which the depth of historical relations between the two countries was emphasized. The conference witnessed the announcement of the reopening of the Indian embassy in the capital, Tripoli.
