Resurgence of RSV infections for the first time since the corona epidemic

Autumn has begun, and there has also been a resurgence of RSV infections among young children. Most children infected with the virus can recover at home. But some babies or young children become so ill that hospitalization is necessary. And they also notice this in the children’s ward at Sint-Trudo Hospital. Half of the number of admissions last weekend consisted of RSV infections. It is the first time since the corona epidemic that there has been such an upsurge in RSV infections.
