The country’s retail inflation rose to 4.91 percent in November, according to federal data released on Monday.

According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NSO):

The country’s retail inflation, as measured by the Nugget Price Index (CPI), rose to 4.91 percent in November this year. Inflation was 4.48 per cent in October 2021 and 6.93 per cent in November 2020.

Food inflation stood at 1.87 per cent in November this year. It was 0.85 per cent in the previous month, according to the data.

Retail inflation has been a major factor in the Reserve Bank’s monetary policy making. Inflation, which is expected to peak in the fourth quarter of the current fiscal, is expected to ease thereafter, the Reserve Bank said.
