Retail: Inwi Money and FMCG.ma join forces to develop financial services

Marrakech – Inwi Money, a subsidiary of the global operator inwi and FMCG.ma, an innovative startup operating in the consumer goods industry in Morocco, announced on Thursday the signing of a strategic partnership during the 2nd edition of GITEX Africa, which is being held in Marrakech from May 29 to 31, 2024.

This strategic partnership aims to stimulate the development of financial services in retail based on loyalty mechanisms across the entire value chain, Inwi said in a press release.

This technological collaboration is a concrete illustration of the efforts made by Inwi Money to diversify payment methods in Morocco. It will thus contribute to accelerating the financial inclusion of the greatest number of people and to promoting the dematerialization of cash transactions.

Winner of the inwiDays Prize at the 2023 edition dedicated to Retailtech, FMCG.ma is recognized for its ability to manage thousands of points of sale thanks to its Order-Taking system with intelligent analysis capacity.

With more than 20,000 points of sale spread across several regions of the Kingdom, FMCG.ma is now a key player in the mass consumption sector in Morocco and in the digitalization of the distribution process between major suppliers and retailers.

This partnership between Inwi Money and FMCG.ma will allow merchants and retailers to more easily access innovative financial services while benefiting from the loyalty programs developed by FMCG.ma.

While being part of a dynamic of digitalization of the mass consumption sector, this partnership consolidates the close collaboration between the global operator Inwi and Moroccan startups, while opening up new perspectives for the development of innovative solutions adapted to the needs of Moroccan professionals and consumers, concludes the press release.
