Retail sales of all vehicles across India recorded strong growth in January. Overall sales rose 15 percent.
Sales of two-wheelers increased by 15 percent, 3-wheelers by 37 percent, passenger vehicles by 13 percent, tractors by 21 percent, and commercial vehicles by 0.1 percent.
In this regard, the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association has stated in a statement that:-
Demand for two-wheelers is strong in the rural market segment. Sales of passenger vehicles hit a new high in January. 3,93,250 vehicles have been sold. It has broken the sales record of November 2023.
However, overstocking of vehicles remains a concern. It is still in the 50-55 day range. A challenge for car dealers. Sales of the tractor segment are also on the upswing after sluggishness in previous months.
