Retaliation to China; The United States canceled 44 passenger flights

by time news

The United States on Friday canceled 44 passenger flights from the United States to China. The move comes as China imposes restrictions on US flights citing Corona guidelines.

China has imposed stricter border controls, including a reduction in air service, and has suspended transport services to corona-affected countries. Corona testing is carried out for travelers coming to China through corona rules.

Although the passengers were not affected by the corona on departure, the test taken after arrival in China confirmed their corona exposure. Due to this, the United States, Delta and United Airlines have canceled flights.

A statement from the U.S. Department of Transportation on Friday said, “Restrictions on the air services of US, Delta and United Airlines have put public safety in jeopardy, and appropriate action is needed.”

The U.S. company should not take action against passengers who confirm the presence of corona in a post-arrival test, despite adhering to all Chinese rules, including pre-departure guidelines and procedures to be followed on board the aircraft.

The U.S. Department of Transportation has announced the cancellation of flights between Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Xiamen Airlines from January 30 to March 29. The move comes just three weeks before the start of the Winter Olympics in China.
