Retirees: How to work longer is financially attractive

The statutory retirement age is currently increasing every year. For those born in 1957, for example, it is 65 years and eleven months – those affected can therefore retire this year. For those born in 1964 or later, the age limit is 67.

However, anyone who can show at least 45 years of contributions can retire earlier without deductions – in common parlance, this is usually referred to as a pension at 63. But that is not correct, because the standard retirement age is also increasing here. For those born in 1957 it is 63 years and eleven months, and for those born in 1964 it is 65, i.e. two years below the general standard retirement age.

What many do not consider: the difference between a regular pension and an early pension is far greater than 0.3 percent per month.
