TRENTO. The Regional Council of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol has approved a change to the criteria for the assignment of contributions intended for public companies providing personal services and residences for the elderly in Ladin localities. The updated parameters lead to increases in the maximum amounts payable. The system for allocating funds considers the type of services provided, the number of patients, which becomes a central indicator, and the budget volume.
In force from January 1, 2025, the new provisions are intended to respond more effectively to the budgetary needs of companies and to support the valorization of the Ladin language and the quality of the services offered. “The approval of these updates demonstrates the Region’s attention towards safeguarding the Ladin language and culture”, declared the President of the Region Arno Kompatscher. “With these changes we intend to provide concrete responses to the needs (of the structures, ed.), taking into account the growing burdens linked to trilingualism”, underlined the regional councilor for social security Carlo Daldoss.
The Regional Council has already decided to grant a contribution of 49,576.61 euros to the San Durich residence for the elderly in Ortisei (BZ), managed by the Salto-Sciliar district community, which has 75 beds (72 occupied), 83 employees and a budget of over 6 million euros. The funding represents 60% of the expenses incurred for the use of the Ladin language. “The contribution is not only a cultural recognition, but also a fundamental economic support to maintain the equity and quality of the services offered to our elderly”, added thecouncilor for linguistic minorities Luca Guglielmi.
