In Crete of 1975

The second season of “The Beach” takes us to Crete of 1975, to a time when Greece is gradually leaving behind the darkness of the junta and Democracy is struggling to find its footing in the restructured Greek state. In the carved rocks of Matalas, old and new characters coexist and seek their identity in a rapidly changing world.

Secrets, love, and revenge

At the same time, a dark story from the period of German Occupation comes to the surface, threatening once again to haunt the present. A story that everyone somewhat knew, but very consciously chose to forget, and those who lived it and survived, sooner or later, will demand revenge.

The return of Pavlos (Dimitris Kitsos) to his ancestral land and his acquaintance with Iphigenia (Aphrodite Liantou) will bring to light a forbidden, yet intense, love. Pavlos tries to take control into his own hands while Iphigenia aims to maintain it. One cannot succeed without the other failing.

The series “The Beach” returns for a second season full of intrigues, emotions, and surprises.

An ode to Crete, to the beauty of nature and to the power of forbidden love.
