Huracán beat Atlético Tucumán 4-0 at home on Saturday at the beginning of the fourteenth and final round of the League Cup. With no chance of reaching the quarterfinals, the ‘Globo’ said goodbye to the tournament with a strong performance at the expense of the ‘Dean’, who in turn finished a very poor campaign, second to last in their area and with just one win in 14 games.
The figure of the party was Ignacio Pussetto, scorer of two goals but who set off alarms because he announced after the match that his goal for June is to return to Europe. “The figure was the team. The team showed that it has this ability to play football. We had a tournament that didn’t go the way we wanted. We intended to fight it, but reality is what we had to face. The good thing is that we were able to finish it well, with a good victory. Now, to recharge our batteries for the new championship,” explained the forward.

The best of the match

If the Tucumán team had a bad championship, it was worse for Tigre, which finished last, with just 5 points and was the team with the most defeats in the tournament (11), including the one it suffered on Saturday when losing 1-0 at home with Union.
Joaquín Mosqueira’s goal in the 66th minute was enough for the Santa Fe team to stay with three points and finish eighth in Zone B.
The last date of the first phase of the League Cup will continue this Sunday with the matches Sarmiento-Platense, Gimnasia y Esgrima-Banfield and Central Córdoba-San Lorenzo. On Monday, Zone A will be defined with Argentinos-Barracas Central, Independiente-Talleres, Instituto-River and Independiente Rivadavia-Vélez, while on Tuesday the crucial duels in Zone B will be played, with Belgrano-Racing, Boca-Godoy Cruz, Defensa-Newell’s and Lanús- Estudiantes, and on Wednesday they will complete Rosario Central-Riestra.
