‘Return to Silent Hill‘, the new film based on the iconic survival horror franchise, is finally starting to take shape, after being announced last year, along with other news related to upcoming video games in the series.
From Deadline they confirm that the main actors will be Jeremy Irvine y Hannah Emily Anderson. Both have participated separately in productions known as ‘War Horse’ and ‘Jigsaw: The Game Continues’.
The actors will place themselves under the orders of Christophe Ganswho is in charge of an adaptation of Silent Hill again, after having his own with the first film in 2006. The recordings are scheduled for April of this year, and among the places chosen will be Germany and Eastern Europe.

What will ‘Return to Silent Hill’ be about?
The first synopsis tells us that we will follow James (played by Irvine), a broken man after being separated from his true love. When a mysterious letter appears asking him to return to Silent Hill in search of it, he ends up finding a city that has been transformed by evil.
As James descends into darkness, they are confronted by terrifying figures and begin to question his state of mind as he struggles to see reality and stay sane enough to save his lost love.
It is quite clear that the film will take the second video game as its starting point. Gans has been in charge of the script, with the help of Sandra Vo-Anh and William Josef Schneider. The director is expected to rake in well, similar to what happened with the 2006 movie he spawned. $100M.
