The Bank of England has revealed for the first time what the new banknotes are expected to look like with the portrait of the new king, Charles III.
Today we unveiled the design of the King Charles III £5, £10, £20 and £50 banknotes. They are expected to enter circulation by mid-2024. The bank revealed that the £5, £10, £20 and £50 bills will feature the portrait of the new king, and that they will be distributed to the general public starting in mid-2024.
The bank clarifies that anyone who owns the old bills, with a portrait of the former Queen Elizabeth II, will still be able to use them.
