The Federal Revenue announced a new measure to assist taxpayers in verifying possible pending issues related to the delivery of Income Tax returns, both for the year 2023 and for previous years. As of this Friday (7), taxpayers will be able to access the new consultation service via the internet.

The new service is available on the “My Income Tax” page. Taxpayers will have the option of checking their status both on the Federal Revenue page, on the e-CAC portal, and on the “Meu Imposto de Renda” application. Access to the services will be done through the password of the gov.br system.

Declarations that have not been delivered will appear as “missing”. Through the “My Income Tax” service, taxpayers will be able to check the situation each year and identify if there is any pending declaration.

When clicking on the year in which the omission is identified, two options will be presented: “fill in the declaration” or “consult the reasons for the omission”.

One of the facilities made available will be the option to fill in overdue declarations. In addition, a pre-filled declaration will be offered, already with the data that eventually were not included in the initial submission.

If the taxpayer has received any income above a certain amount, for example, the Federal Revenue Service will provide the omitted information, facilitating correction and proper delivery.

The settlement of overdue statements is extremely important, as it prevents the taxpayer’s CPF from being classified as “pending settlement”. Thus, the service launched by the Federal Revenue Service aims to help taxpayers correct possible omissions and, consequently, avoid future problems.

In addition to querying pending issues, the feature also allows you to check the status of the 2023 Income Tax return. Taxpayers will be able to check whether there is any pending issue, whether they are in the refund queue or whether they have fallen into the fine mesh.

This new tool provides greater transparency and ease for taxpayers to monitor the processing of their declarations and avoid any type of inconvenience or delay in the process.

The Federal Revenue emphasizes the importance of settling any pending issues and reinforces that the delivery of statements with omissions is essential to avoid future complications. The online consultation of pending Income Taxes represents yet another step towards simplifying and making compliance with tax obligations more accessible by taxpayers.

It is essential that taxpayers are aware of their tax obligations and use the tools made available by the Federal Revenue to check their pending issues and regularize their situation.
