San Salvador. The Technical Unit for Commerce in Public Spaces (UTCEP) of the Mayor’s Office of San Salvador, met with a hundred self-employed merchants from the National Library sector, to share details of the Revitalization Plan for the Historic Center.
The aforementioned plan is in phases 2 and 3 and in this sense the alternatives offered by the municipality were discussed, so as not to affect the commercial interests of this sector.
The process of voluntary withdrawal of the group will soon begin and they will participate in it in the coming days to ensure conditions of success in the recovery work in the area, according to Irvin Rodríguez, head of the UTCEP.
Mayor Mario Durán is promoting the recovery of the public space of the Historic Center from the capital commune and, additionally, the installation of underground wiring in the areas of the new library.
“We began another stage of recovery of the Historic Center in this phase of the plan, which is an effort to have an orderly, safe and quiet space, with a view to the New Year’s Eve season. We have shared with them the conditions that we are generating and the opportunities in the Municipal Market System,” Rodríguez added.
The reorganization dynamic will involve nearly 400 merchants who remain stationed on 6th. cp, 2nd as and 4th cp, on the south side of the National Palace.
