Man Accused of Murder in Saint-Fons, France, Turns Himself In
A 24-year-old man is in police custody after turning himself in to authorities in Rhône, France, and confessing to the murder of a 35-year-old man. The incident occurred on Saturday, July 18, in the town of Saint-Fons, located approximately fifteen kilometers south of Lyon.
The Fatal Stabbing
The victim was discovered on rue Émile Zola in the Arsenal district of Saint-Fons around 5:20 a.m. on Saturday. Emergency services responded to the scene and found the man suffering from a thorax wound caused by a stabbing weapon. Despite their efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
Self-Incrimination and Investigation
Approximately ten hours after the homicide, around 3 p.m. on Saturday, the 24-year-old suspect voluntarily presented himself at a Rhône police station and implicated himself in the crime. He was immediately placed in police custody.
According to information released by the Lyon prosecution on Sunday, an investigation has been launched under the charge of “voluntary homicide.” Authorities have stated that the investigation is ongoing.
The case remains under active investigation as authorities work to determine the motive and circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
