New Series of ‘Put Your Brain in Motion’ to Begin in Alkmaar

Following the success of its previous course, ‘Put Your Brain in Motion’, a new series is set to start in Alkmaar on Monday, January 8. The program, which will take place at the De Daalder community center, aims to stimulate movement, speech, and cognition through structured exercises, rhythm, and music.

The course is particularly effective for Parkinson’s and MS patients, as well as those with other forms of acquired brain damage. It will run weekly on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and registration is open via www.sport-z.org/breininbeweging.

The program is based on the Ronnie Gardiner Method (RGM), which is a multi-sensory exercise method designed to simultaneously stimulate various areas of the brain including vision, hearing, motor skills, speech, and memory. The method has been met with great enthusiasm and success among participants.

According to Heleen van Cronenberg of Sport-Z, “After the success of the pilot beginners course for Parkinson’s patients, we have decided to launch another series. The participants are very enthusiastic and we see weekly progress in their skills. By incorporating music, symbols, lyrics, and movements, the program engages various disciplines in the brain, impacting motor skills, coordination, body balance, thinking speed, and speech.”

Participants have also reported that they have a lot of fun and find recognition among the other participants in the group. More information about the project can be found at www.sport-z.org/breininbeweging.]
