The tournament was short-lived for Richard Gasquet. The 51st ATP player faced another French tennis player, ranked 20 places lower, Corentin Moutet, in the first round of Wimbledon on Monday. While they are respectively aged 37 and 24, the younger of the two took over the other (6-3, 7-5, 7-5) in a meeting marked by tensions during the third set . After being unbroken, Richard Gasquet got angry with his opponent’s coach, reports The Team.

Gasquet had reason to be frustrated after letting slip the second set, where he led 5-3, service to follow, and the third, where he found himself at 4-1 in his favor. His opponent of the day, however, had scored more winning points (49 against 30) and committed fewer unprovoked fouls (28 against 37).
