Sha’Carri Richardson, great hope of the American sprint, whose momentum was stopped in 2021 by a positive test for marijuana then plagued by personal problems, said she was determined to make up for lost time on Friday, on the eve of the meeting in Los Angeles.

Richardson indeed seems to be on the rise again after two difficult years. She achieved the best performance of the year in the 100m in 10 sec 76 during the Diamond League stage in Doha on May 5, four hundredths of her personal best. In April, she had run even faster (10.57) in Florida, but the wind was blowing too hard behind her for this time to be approved.
