Ricky Martin is fighting a new lawsuit against him alleging “abusive and savage sexual assault” – less than a week after he filed a $20 million lawsuit over previous allegations from his nephew. The new complaint was filed Friday at the police station in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Although the name of the person making the allegations is not listed, the Associated Press reported that it was Martin’s nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, who filed the case. And that’s not the only new lawsuit against the singer – Martin is also facing another $3 million lawsuit filed in July by his former manager Rebecca Drucker (more on that later).

“These allegations are deeply offensive and completely unrelated to reality,” Martin’s attorney, Jose Andreu-Fuentes, said in a statement to the New York Post. “When this man made similar allegations in the past, his legal case had to be dismissed – not least because he himself admitted under oath that Ricky Martin had never assaulted him in any way.”

After being acquitted in court of the nephew’s accusations in July of this year, less than a week ago the Latin pop star filed his counterclaim against Sanchez (on September 7), in which he claimed that his nephew’s accusations of incest and sexual abuse were an attempt to “assassin” the singer’s reputation, According to court documents obtained by The Post. “Now that he’s been sued for trying to blackmail Mr. Martin, he’s trying to spread his lies again,” Andreu-Fuentes told The Post. “It’s past time for the media to stop giving this troubled person the oxygen of publicity and allow him to get the help he so desperately needs.”

The lawsuit — which claims Sanchez’s allegations have cost Martin at least $10 million in canceled contracts and projects, and another $20 million in reputational damage — comes after the 50-year-old pop star was slammed with allegations that he was romantically involved with Sanchez and allegedly harassed the young man after that their relationship is over.

In July, Martin’s 21-year-old nephew claimed he was the victim of domestic abuse and illegal incest at the hands of Martin, and obtained a restraining order against the “Livin’ La Vida Loca” singer. At the time, Martin’s attorney denied the “disgusting” and “untrue” allegations, saying the accusers had “mental health challenges.” Ultimately, the case against Martin was dropped, but Sanchez didn’t stop there.

Sanchez once bragged about being Martin’s nephew, the lawsuit alleges — that is, before he made allegations of incest and domestic violence. In the paperwork, Martin said he received an onslaught of direct messages for four months, sometimes receiving more than 10 a day. The messages, according to Martin, were sent by a “mismatched person,” who also leaked the singer’s phone number on Instagram and created parody accounts for one of Martin’s children.

Due to Sanchez’s allegations, Martin — who is currently filming the upcoming Apple TV+ series “Mrs. American Pie” with Laura Dern, Kristen Wiig, Allison Janney and Kaia Gerber — claims to have lost millions of dollars in deals, and is now seeking $20 million dollar in compensation for the damages, in addition to leaving the singer feeling “unsafe” in Puerto Rico.

“It was so painful. It was devastating for me, for my family, for my friends, and I wouldn’t wish it on anybody,” Martin said last month. “To the person who claimed this nonsense, I wish him the best and I hope he finds the help so he can start a new life full of love and truth and joy, and he won’t hurt anyone else.”

Meanwhile, Martin is facing another $3 million lawsuit filed in July by his former manager Rebecca Drucker, who claims she is owed unpaid fees. Her lawsuit also alluded to a “potentially career-ending allegation” that occurred in September 2020, though Martin “emerged unscathed and continued his professional revival.”
