Ricta: Remanded in custody for the attack on the 23-year-old student – “I had no intention of causing harm” he said in his apology – The student remains in critical condition
He was temporarily detained after his confession to the interrogator the 25-year-old musician “Ricta” who is accused, together with another person, of the attack against a 23-year-old student in the center of Thessaloniki. The student is hospitalized for the 11th day in the Intensive Care Unit of the AHEPA hospital, while the prosecutor and the investigator unanimously “showed” the 25-year-old, known trapper, the way to prison.
Apologizing himself, previously, to the 7th regular investigator of Thessaloniki, he denied the charge of attempted homicide (jointly) attributed to him, presenting his own perspective on the incident. According to information, he said that he was preceded by a comment from the 23-year-old’s company, which he interpreted as “ironic”, while he admitted that he hit the victim in the face.

Ricta: I meant no harm
He allegedly named the person accompanying him and – according to the case file – hit the 23-year-old in the chest. He claimed in his apology that after the student fell with his head on the ground, they offered him first aid. “I lifted up his legs and my acquaintance went to bring him water”he reportedly said, stressing: “I had no intention of causing him harm”, “it was not my hit that caused the result”.
The 25-year-old was arrested last Saturday in the area of Ladadiki, in Thessaloniki, in execution of a warrant issued against him by the investigating officer. According to the case file, the incident happened in the early hours of January 26, at the junction of Syngrou and Egnatia streets, outside a bar, where the young victim was with his group. According to the same case file, the student was attacked unprovoked on the occasion of a simple question he addressed to the 25-year-old, as a result of which he fell to the ground and hit his head.

After the attack, the victim went to his home, where he fell asleep, which probably contributed to the deterioration of his health. Information states that when he woke up, he did not have good contact with the environment and his words were incomprehensible. He was then transferred to the AHEPA hospital, where the doctors found that he has a hematoma on his head, while they submitted him to a long-hour surgery. To this day, he is hospitalized in a critical condition in the ICU of the hospital.
