Already in the first half, RFS was without Petr Mareš, who is recovering from an injury. Dmitrijs Zelenkovs entered the game instead of him in the 38th minute.
At the beginning of the second half, “Riga” had a good attack, but Reginaldu Ramirez’s shot was too weak and RFS goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoa stopped the ball.
In the continuation, several mistakes were made by the defenders of “Riga” and near the penalty area of the home team, Sedriks Kuadio got the ball, who then passed to Jānis Ikaunieks, but the attack ended with “Riga” goalkeeper Nilas Puriņas catching the ball.
With less than five minutes to go before the end of regular time, Gauthier Mankenda had a breakthrough for the RFS goal, but his pass was inaccurate and the ball went back to Ondoa. On Friday, in the first match of the round, “Jelgava” defeated “Grobinu”/LFS 3:2, while on Saturday “Tukums 2000” defeated “Valmiera” 3:2 at home and “Daugavpils” lost 0:2 to “Liepāja”. On Sunday, “Auda” defeated “Metta” with 4:0.
RFS has accumulated 66 points in 26 matches, “Riga” has 62 points in 27 matches, and “Valmiera” has 51 points. “Auda” has 37 points in 26 matches and “Daugavpils” has 34 points in 26 games. “Grobiņa”/LFS have 29 points in 27 matches, “Metta” and “Tukums 2000” have 26 points, while “Liepāja” and “Jelgava” have accumulated 22 and 19 points in 27 matches, respectively.
The Premier League championship with the participation of ten teams takes place in four rounds, with each team playing 36 games. 180 games are expected to be played until November 9.
Last season, RFS became the champion for the second time, which secured victory only in the last round, winning over “Metta” team with 1:0.
