Former US President Donald Trump has called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to release any incriminating information he holds about the son of current US President Joe Biden, Hunter.

In an interview with JustTheNews, Trump said: “I think Putin will be able to provide information about Hunter Biden’s business in Russia. I think he should publish it. I think we will know the answer.”

As you may recall, the U.S. Department of Justice does investigate Hunter’s involvement in economic crimes in China and Ukraine while his father was vice president under Obama, but there is no evidence to support Trump’s claims that the Biden family was involved in corruption or influenced American policies for their own benefit.

Trump’s appeal to Putin is particularly puzzling in light of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and the Americans’ rivalry with the Russians following the war. As is well known, the United States has imposed many sanctions, with politicians from all over the American political map condemning the actions of the Russian president.

As you may recall, in 2019, Trump urged Ukrainian President Vladimir Zlansky to open an investigation against then-Democratic candidate Joe Biden, which led to the impeachment lawsuit against Trump, from which he survived thanks to the Senate.

In addition, in 2016 members of the Trump presidential campaign took advantage of the Russian government’s intervention against Clinton’s campaign, when the Russians broke into Clinton’s emails and leaked them. Also, in the 2020 presidential election campaign, some of Trump’s senior allies met with a Russian spy to spread disinformation about Biden and his family, including allegations of corruption that Trump claimed in an interview.
