Rilmi announced the Realme 9 Pro series in a color changer design

by time news

Realme has announced its new pair of mid-range devices, Realme 9 Pro and Realme 9 Pro Plus. Both come in a completely new design from their predecessors, and a back made of a color-changing material. The blue model, for example, turns red-orange when exposed to sunlight. It’s a technology that the BBK Group has already introduced in some Vivo models, and now it’s also coming to a more affordable branding brand.

The differences between the two models may be a bit confusing, since the specifications of the “plus” model do not necessarily exceed that of the Pro model, which should be cheaper in every parameter. For example, the Realme 9 Pro Plus comes with a 6.4-inch display and a 90 Hz refresh rate, and the Realme 9 Pro Plus comes with a 6.6-inch screen and a 120-Hz refresh rate (but the Plus model is an OLED screen with an embedded fingerprint scanner).

The main camera in the Realme 9 Pro Plus comes with a resolution of 50 megapixels and optical stabilization, while that of the Realme 9 Pro model with a main sensor of 64 megapixels, but without optical stabilization. Both devices have a wide-angle sensor (8 megapixels) and a macro sensor (2 megapixels).

In terms of performance, the Realme 9 Pro comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 chipset and 8GB of working memory, while the Plus model has the same amount of memory, but the MediaTek’s Dimensity 920. Both come with the pre-installed Android 12 operating system, with the latest Realme UI 3.0 interface. And here’s one last attempt to confuse: the Pro model comes with a battery with a capacity of 5,000 mAh, while the Plus model – 4,500 mAh.

Given the intriguing specifications gaps between the two devices, which seem to offer mostly a choice and not necessarily an upgrade over each other, it will be interesting to see how Rilmi chooses to price them. Meanwhile, the company has not yet revealed the price of the models in the West, when in India they will be offered at a starting price of about $ 300. They are expected to arrive in Israel by the beginning of March.
