Riots in Dublin Follow Horrific Stabbing Incident
A typically vibrant area in central Dublin transformed into a war zone Thursday night as right-wing rioters wreaked havoc following speculation that a foreign national was behind a violent stabbing outside a school. The attack left three young children, all under the age of 7, and a woman in her 30s hospitalized, sending shockwaves through the city.
The disturbances erupted on O’Connell Street, a bustling shopping district that should have been filled with holiday shoppers. Instead, anti-immigration protesters set fire to buses and police cars, smashed windows of shops, looted storefronts, and reportedly attacked non-white individuals. The chaos erupted after unconfirmed rumors about the nationality of the suspect and speculation linking the attack to Israeli-Palestinian tensions.
