Bolvir hosted last weekend the XVII National Competition of the Brown Breed of the Pyrenees, which for the first time brought together the 160 best specimens from the Vall d’Aran to the Empordà, and in which the cattle farms of Ripollès surprised by winning in different categories. They stood out Mas Pinòs de Vallfogona del Ripollès with 4 awards and Mas la Torre de Ribes de Freser with 2.
The president of the Brown Federation of the Pyrenees, Joan Noguera, valued above all the commitment and work done by the breeders of Ripollès towards the brown breed, adding that the well-deserved results have now arrived. To complete Ripoll’s success, the livestock farms of Mas Fogonella d’Ogassa, El Mas de Sant Joan de les Abadesses and Cal Gandaiet de Pardines.
The contest ended with the offer of the towns of Cerdano Bolvir and Bellver by the voice of their mayor and mayoress, respectively, to hold the event in their towns in the coming years and thus maintain this important national livestock event in the region.
