Rise of indices in the capital market, increased transactions

Trading on the fourth working day of the week ended on Wednesday (August 28) with indices on the Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges (DSE-CSE) rising. On this day, compared to the previous working day, the amount of transactions in DSE increased slightly, but it decreased in CSE. However, the prices of shares of most companies and units of mutual funds that participated in the transactions in both the capital markets increased on this day.

According to DSE and CSE sources, at the end of the day, the main index of DSE DSEX increased by 70.93 points from the previous day and stood at 5 thousand 756 points. The DSE Shariah index increased by 17.27 points to 1,234 points and the DS30 index increased by 30.64 points to 2,117 points.

A total of 398 shares and units of companies were traded on DSE. Among them, the share and unit prices of 171 companies increased, 79 decreased and 48 remained unchanged.

A total of 898 crore 64 lakh shares and units were traded in DSE on this day. Shares and units worth Tk 750 crore 24 lakh were traded on the previous working day.

On the other hand, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CSCX index increased by 83 points to 9883 points. Overall index CASPI decreased by 133.71 points to 16 thousand 402 points, Sharia index increased by 11.06 points to 1 thousand 41 points and CSE30 index increased by 113.59 points to 13 thousand 135 points.

Shares and units of 220 companies were traded on CSE. Among them, share and unit prices increased in 117 companies, decreased in 81 and remained unchanged in 22.

At the end of the day, shares and units worth Tk 8 crore 22 lakh were traded in CSE. Shares and units worth Tk 22 crore 28 lakh were traded on the previous working day.
