Rise of indices in the capital market, reduced transactions

Trading on the first working day of the week ended on Sunday (September 1) with indices rising on the Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges (DSE-CSE). On this day, the transactions in DSE and CSE decreased slightly compared to the previous working day. However, the share prices of most of the companies and mutual fund units traded in both the capital markets increased on the day.

According to DSE and CSE sources, at the end of the day, the main index of DSE DSEX increased by 29.95 points from the previous day and stood at 5 thousand 829 points. The DSE Shariah index rose 4.29 points to 1,245 points and the DS30 index rose 4.13 points to 2,128 points.

A total of 390 shares and units of companies were traded on DSE. Among them, the share and unit prices of 255 companies increased, 100 decreased and 35 remained unchanged.

A total of Tk 933 crore 63 lakh shares and units were traded in DSE today. Shares and units worth Tk 963 crore 26 lakh were traded on the previous working day.

On the other hand, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CSCX index increased by 61.63 points to 10 thousand 16 points. Overall index CASPI increased by 103.67 points to 16 thousand 623 points, Sharia index increased by 4.73 points to 1 thousand 52 points and CSE30 index increased by 12.62 points to 13 thousand 212 points.

Shares and units of 221 companies were traded on CSE. Among them, the share and unit prices of 140 companies increased, 65 decreased and 16 remained unchanged.

At the end of the day, shares and units worth Tk 8 crore 43 lakh were traded in CSE. Shares and units worth Tk 13 crore 96 lakh were traded on the previous working day.
