According to Crisil Research, Indian telecom service providers are planning to increase their mobile phone tariffs again, which will significantly increase their revenue in the current fiscal.

Crisil, a quality rating agency, added in its study:

The top three telecom service providers are expected to raise mobile phone tariffs again in the second half of the current fiscal (October-March). It seems that those companies are actively involved in this work. As a result, their revenue growth rate is projected to increase by 20 to 25 percent in the current fiscal year 2023. Also, the operating profit margin will rise to 1.80-2.20 per cent.

While the average revenue from customers increased by 5 per cent in the last financial year, the companies plan to increase it significantly by 15-20 per cent in the current financial year.

Crisil said telecom companies plan to increase investment in customer service by increasing investment in networks, including spectrum, by increasing revenue.

It is noteworthy that after a long hiatus, telecom companies, which had been plagued by low tariff competition due to the arrival of Geo, started raising mobile phone tariffs from last December.
