Former Aussie legend Adam Gilchrist has said that Rishabh Pant should be included in the Indian team.
With the Indian team combination for the T20 World Cup almost settled, the question of who will play as the wicket-keeper remains a mystery till now. Rishabh Pant was the wicket keeper of the Indian team.
But he was dropped only in the last 5 overs. The Indian team management did not want to field him before that. A player should not be taken in the last 5 overs or for bowling 10-15 balls. Criticism arose that the finisher is the one who takes the game from a tight spot to the end, not the finisher who hits the big shot in the last few balls and gives the finishing touch.
Some former players voiced their support for Rishabh Pant and some for Dinesh Karthik. Team India should have backed one of the two considering the T20 World Cup. But dropping both of them alternately creates an ambiguous environment that confuses both of them and confuses the team management as well.
