The Test match between England and India, which was postponed last year, started yesterday in Edgbaston. In this match, England won the toss and opted to field, while India batted first.
Batting first, the Indian team lost 5 wickets for 98 runs. Shubman Gill, Pujara, Vihari, Kohli and Shreyas Iyer lost 5 wickets for 98 runs.
After that Rishabh Pant and Jadeja batted tremendously and raised the team’s score. Rishabh Pant scored a century and Jadeja a half-century. Rishabh and Jadeja put on 222 runs for the 6th wicket.
Rishabh Pant, who scored a hundred in 89 balls, was dismissed for 146 runs in 111 balls. After that, Shardul Tagore was also dismissed for one run, and at the end of the first day’s play, the Indian team had accumulated 338 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. India scored 416 runs in the first innings when Siraj was dismissed as the last wicket. Bumrah scored 31 runs off 16 balls.
